Hello friend,
Mid-summer may be my favourite time of the year in the garden. While I love the energy and excitement that comes from spring planting, it’s a lot of work to get things started, in the ground, and past the seedling stage.
By mid-summer, I’m surrounded by abundance, and it’s so incredibly joyful. Perennials have reached their peak, the veggie garden is producing, I can cut flowers and make bouquets, and I can see the fruit that will soon ripen for harvest.
Now it’s not all sunshine and relaxing this time of year. Maintenance is crucial to keep up the beauty and future harvest.
The two biggest things I’m doing this time of year are pest management and feeding. Every morning, I take a walk through my garden. As I walk, I may pick a weed, harvest some produce, and do some visual checks for how my plants are doing.
